covid-19

Spring 2023

Dear Marwood Community,

Over the past couple of summers we’ve been very grateful to be able to gather in person and grateful for our families and counselors working together to keep our community safe through vaccines and testing as the pandemic landscape evolves.

The counselors have taken into consideration that we are a large community and have a program that puts us together in many combinations of grouping sizes, both in and out of doors.  Based on current research and information put out by the Center for Disease Control, the American Camp Association, the Illinois Dept. of Health, the Alliance for Camp Health, the UUA, and taking into consideration our camp program, for the summer 2023, we will continue to ask for pre-event COVID testing and test mid week at camp but we will no longer be requiring Covid vaccines and all boosters to be at camp in person.  The counselor group highly encourages campers to have any and all vaccines and boosters that your healthcare providers recommend for you and your family.

Additionally, as part of our new registration system we will be asking for different medical information for all of our in person events in 2023. Our camp medical forms will ask for more specific health information as well as about school accommodations, mental health, special needs, etc. - the things that are needed to keep your camper safe and healthy at camp and any information needed in case of a mental or physical health emergency.

The ultimate goal is to stay safe and healthy and not spread unwanted germs to others.

If you have questions or concerns please contact: Kate at (708) 707-0516.

Thank you for your cooperation as we care for each other.
